Adenomiosi
I sintomi più frequenti dell' adenomiosi uterina sono sanguinamento mestruale eccessivo, dismenorrea e anemia. Può anche comparire dolore pelvico cronico. I sintomi possono risolversi dopo la menopausa.
Il trattamento più efficace per l'adenomiosi uterina è l'isterectomia. Possono essere tentati trattamenti ormonali con il dienogest come per il trattamento dell'endometriosi, o con contraccettivi orali estroprogestinici, ma di solito senza successo. Un dispositivo intrauterino a rilascio di levonorgestrel può aiutare a controllare la dismenorrea e il sanguinamento.
